What to expect

At Kidspace, the health and well-being of children and childcare will always be our number one priority, thus we remain committed to ensuring that our programs are SAFE. There are still unknown challenges ahead, we will always ensure that we follow best practices and that we listen, understand, learn and are BRAVE together!

Public health officials continue to provide best practices to ensure our health and safety.

We have updated and improved all safety protocols and procedures associated with Kidspace programs. We will continue to adjust and follow best practices as more information becomes available to us.

We ask that you read through the following information so that you are aware of the steps we are taking to ensure the health and safety of your children and staff.

COACHES

  • All coaches must complete a course, reviewing best practices for health and safety as outlined by Public health officials.

  • Coaches are expected to monitor their health for any covid19 symptoms before attending work.

  • During the class, coaches will practice physical distancing, as best as can be maintained.

  • We coach very young children and establishing a two-metre distance will thus not always be possible.

  • We will continue to follow mask regulations and best mask practices.

  • Before each class, coaches will review safety rules with children and will demonstrate how to create a safe distance during practice and play.

PROGRAM & EQUIPMENT

  • Children will be given their own equipment to use throughout the program.

  • All equipment visits only 1 location before being thoroughly sanitized for the next day.

  • Any shared equipment will be sanitized between uses.

  • Skills and games have been modified to maximize participant safety and to promote social distancing.

Zero-contact delivery & Policy

  • All activity kit materials are sanitized thoroughly, as well as all packaging

  • The delivering coach will be using PPE on a strict basis during the course of packaging, and delivering

  • All activity kit material will be dropped off outside of the school/childcare centre, while the coach notifies you of delivery

  • For material pick up, all remaining materials should be placed into the provided bins, and will be pickup by a coach via the same method as above

CAREGIVERS

We also ask that caregivers and childcare centres support us in our efforts to keep our children safe:

  • If your children exhibit any symptoms of fever, runny nose, chronic cough, sneezing, he or she cannot participate.

  • Review your community policies regarding health, safety, and PPE (i.e. face masks) and prepare accordingly.

  • Ensure that your children have washed their hands before participation. Please provide your own hand sanitizer. We do not know what allergies children may have.

  • Please always maintain two metres of social distance when visiting or attending Kidspace programs.

  • Its important staff and coaches work together to tackle the new challenges we will all face.  Being patient with one-another, and having room for discussion and understanding can make these times much easier for us all. Lets be a strong support to each other!
