A PeeWeeMee doll is very special! Using wood trimmings collected from local shops children bring life to these simple materials. The creative possibilities are endless! Opportunities for tool use, measuring and mathematics, reading, expressing/regulating emotions, and developing self concept. Once this project is complete, planning, designing, and personalizing the doll come next. Followed by many chances for representation and dramatic play. This activity is suitable for school-ages. This doll is AWESOME!!!
Every order comes with materials for 5 dolls. The 5 doll kit costs $50+ HST
These rustic wooden dolls(action figures) are delivered in their raw pieces. Children will saw, sand, and assemble the dolls, with some help from staff. The pieces come blank and can be painted/decorated/designed as an extension activity. 100% of this wood is recovered from local woodworking shops. This kit includes raw materials for 5 dolls (action figures), a saw, safety goggles, safety gloves, sandpaper, string, and glue.
This activity is for school-age children, who will benefit from the exposure to tool use, and problem solving.
While working on these dolls(actions figures) Children will have the opportunity to develop gross and fine motor skills through tool use, practice measuring and mathematical skills, and use helping skills while cooperating with their peers. With the finished product opportunities for arts, creativity, representation, and communication are great. As well as strengthening children's self-esteem in their own abilities.
